Aliens directed drawing

We just wrapped up our space unit. We learned all about the moon, stars, planets, and astronauts. On the last day we had some alien fun. After reading Aliens Love Underpants and Aliens in Underpants Save the World, we brainstormed a list of words that describe aliens.

Here is our bubble map of alien adjectives. The alien clip art came from Deanna Jump's alien unit.

We used our anchor chart to help us write alien list poems.

I am in love with how cute this alien directed drawing turned out. After drawing the alien they used a black crayon to outline and painted with water colors.

We also made a class book patterned after the book, Aliens Love Underpants.

all about space

Today was my first day of summer vacation! It was absolutely wonderful! We spent the entire day on the lake. It is going to be a great summer!

Here is a look at some of the things we did in May.

For this moon craftivity we drew a circle and colored it in with a yellow crayon. Then we painted over the entire paper using black water colors.

I just had to share this precious mother's day portrait. How adorable is this drawing. Her mommy has a band and loves to sing. The labels are found in my mother's day unit right here.

We had a fun space unit. We learned all about astronauts, our solar system, spaceships, aliens, the moon, and lots of big science words!

We graphed would you like to go to the moon? They colored a moon coin and placed it on the correct column. The cute little astronauts came from Babbling Abby.

We practiced counting back with this super fun song, climb aboard the spaceship. My kids loved acting out the song and shouting, "Blast off!" We also glued the song into our poetry journals.

We read lots of non-fiction books about space and recorded our new learning with this little recording sheet. They loved picking out a non-fiction book to find new facts.
